one of my favorite things i do each day is wake my son up. i love the whole process. usually it begins with either him letting me know he wants to get up or me going in and opening his blinds...rubbing his back and talking in a high, but soft pitched voice so not to startle him. many times he is asleep w/his thumb in his mouth. then it begins. squirm, stretch, coo, yawn, grunt, stretch, squirm...and so on. and if he is lucky, he may find his thumb again. then i turn him over and pick him up. he always pulls his little legs up as high as he can, along w/his fists going upward toward his head in an effort to stretch himself. it's priceless. if i'm lucky, this process is accompanied by some toots and more grunts. i love it. i wish i could video tape it. as a matter of fact. maybe i will. for those of you past these precious days, sit back and reminisce. for the rest of us...hold on tight cause they don't last long enough. i only have one that's almost 11 weeks old and i already know this to be true. all i know... is it's amazing that such a simple, innocent, daily moment could bring so much joy.

What a beautiful picture. He's so precious.
Yes - I miss those moments. They can never again be relived except in memory! Soak 'em up.
He looks so sweet in that picture. I have one that I thought was pretty cute. I'll have to send it to ya.
