how my day started

i took Beth's advice and decided to post about my funny experience today.
while we were helping a client w/some staging at her resale home, she was watching her little 2 year old grandson. he seemed like a handful running around, jumping on and off the couch, moving furniture...typical little boy things right? well next thing i know he comes up to me and puts his head to my thing and makes a slurping sound. i immediately felt something wet (cause of course i'm wearing crisp cotton khaki pants). i looked down and it seemed as though he'd either spit on me or licked me. i don't think anyone really noticed until...out of the corner of my eye, i see something flying through the air...and splat. the boy had spit on me. not licked! at a bit of run by, he spit on my other leg. so there i was, a little unsure of what to say. so what did i do? i told him, as nice as possible, "that's not very nice!" his grandmother immediately repremanded him. of course Beth about falls onto Lisa (our clients' agent) laughing. she loved it! w/an almost three year old herself...she was able to appreciate it so much more. it really didn't bother me and i actually found it humorous. i wasn't excited about having the saliva of someone's kid i didn't know on me...but hey. i'm sure this is god's humorous way of preparing me for when my son spits on someone, or picks his nose, or for that matter eats his boogers, or maybe it will be a bite, a pinch, or something else terribly creative. the funny thing, i told them, was that it's what's so great about kids. they do all the socially unacceptable things and think it's funny and alot of times get away w/it. there are definately days i wish i could do the "socially unacceptable". aaahhh to be young again!!!

I don't know if I could handle some other child's spit on me whom I didn't know/was related to. Thankfully my 2 have not done anything quite embarrassing, yet. Knock on wood!

i read your post earlier today and laughed hard then....but didn't have the time to comment. now i'm back online and read it for the second time and i'm still laughing. first of all, i had no idea that the kid licked you. i just remember the spit flying at you a couple of times. that was such a great moment. not for you, i know, but for the record books. thanks for the laughs there sis!
