we had a pretty fun weekend. saturday after a 2 1/2 hour practice for our christmas program my family headed to horseshoe bend for a trip on the thundermountain train to see santa clause. it was mostly for my nephew lucas since preliegh and rykon are too small, but the whole experience was fun for us all. especially since we are such kids at heart. lucas was adorable and sooooo in to santa. he kept saying "santa, i'm here!!!" aaahhh such memories!
my son did me the honors of a long night that evening :o), seeing as how i had to be up at 6:30 to be at church for the pre-rehearsal. the program went well. i think everyone really enjoyed all the kids. they almost didn't show up at the first service which made everyone very nervous. we had to sing deck the halls two times through. pretty funny. that evening my family feasted on our traditional raqulette (i'm butchering that spelling i'm sure) and fondue. we have fondued every year since i can remember. the raqulette is a new addition, brought over by my parents from begium. after dinner we indulged in dessert and warm coffee (w/peppermint mocha creamer of course :o). unfortunately the crust on my pie did not cook all the way through. it tasted like it had beer in it. it was pretty funny. once it was cooked thoroughly it tasted great. lastly we watch the kids open presents from pappa and tatti. they loved them of course.
so all in all it was a good weekend. the chaos is always worth it in the end.
