makin up time

i don't blame any of you if you never check my blog anymore. i haven't been the best about posting. so, as just a catch up, this is my past ten days in thumbnail view.
last friday we ended up going to the sara evans concert. it was good, but i was disappointed a bit. i have saw her live a long time ago, more in the beginning of her career. she opened for kenny chesney. i think i remember her having a bit of difficulty staying on pitch and i was confirmed this time around too. she's a good singer with a unique style, but that girl can't stay on pitch. it's kind of a pet peeve of mine. i will say though, to her defense, i am a little hard on people in this arena (including myself). so, i'll just bring it back around and say that she did entertain me thoroughly and i love her music, so i could sing along to most of the songs she sang. her sisters sing back up for her so it was fun to see them and hear them sing along.
moving on....
well, i can't remember many details about my week except to say it flew by. i will say,this week and a few weeks past, i've been getting with my sister in law, jen, and just going back to the basics, you know, like home ec? yep, homemade sauce/salsa, canning, knitting, baking, etc.... i'm just had a desire lately to get in touch with my more creative, capable side (i know it's in there somewhere). so i'm taking advantage of the fact that i'm a stay at home mom and taking on some projects i've been thinking to tackle for years.
on the list to come...well more of what i've been doing...
more knitting (based on what i've done so far, this could take months to master)
sewing
more canning
decor projects
christmas projects
mastering the art of baking bread (is there a trick or am i just bread baking impaired?)
cake decorating class
and who knows what else
i'll post pics of the stuff we end up creating with how to's just in case you are interested in them...that is IF they turn out perfect and adorable as i hope they will!
oh and by the way...fall is in the air!!! finally!
