tub anyone?

anyone a bath person? i know my sis-in-law is. she swears by them. i've only recently converted. not 100% but i definitely take my share. before the home we are currently in, our previous home had only one bathroom with one small tub. yuck. i could not stand laying in that thing. something about being in such close quarters with my filth just grossed me out. but the tub i have now....well that's a different story. it's a soaker and surrounded by about 10 inches of tile so i feel i'm in an oasis. but i only soak. i'm not a shaver or hair washer in the tub. unless i can do it as i'm practically stepping out. again, the filth thing? i know. just another one of my idiosyncrasies. but on a day when it's cloudy out and the house is just a little cool, there's nothing better than running a hot bath, my laptop on the ledge, watching one of my shows on abc.com and just enjoying the quiet, stillness of my home. (yes, this is happening when my son's down for his nap). i'm sure there are many fellow bloggers that soak too. so who are you?

I love tubs! When I was in college I was sick for a few days over springbreak my freshman year. I was desperate to soak in a tub so I went to walmart purchased a sampler cheesecake, giant rubbermaid bin, and I knew my night was going to be a good one. I went back to the nearly empty dorms and took my rubbermaid bin and placed it in one of the shower stalls. I turned the shower on, squirted my soap into the bin and waited for my tub to fill up. Needless to say I had a blast and I felt much better after that night of soaking. I have a kidney infection right now and so I have spent every night in the tub for at least a half hour to relax my body so I can ignore my pain and fall asleep at night. The two nights I didn't do it I woke up at 3am and took my much needed bath. As we're looking for a house of our own I would love to have a large garden tub, but as long as there is a tub at all I will be ok. We can possibly make some bathroom renovations someday to get the tub I've dreamed of. A little Jack Johnson, Norah Jones, or John Mayer are unbelieveable company to a nice hot bath. Well, I guess you know where I stand now. :) Happy Soaking.

I LOVE baths! I have to take one everynight. Even if it's LATE and we've been out or just UP LATE...I cannot go to bed without one. Some night I just in the hot tub-either way I MUST get clean! :)

Tubs are a treat for me for sure!!!! I shower to clean, and bathe for fabulous soaking and meditating. Mmmm...that sounds great right about now.

i am a soaker. i can't stand the idea of washing the dirt off then basting it. i don't take baths a lot but, like you, when it's cold out and i can't get warm i head for the tub. nothing like a nice hot soak. i love the idea of watchingtv. i'm going to tell rob i need a laptop just for my soaks.

I have to agree- I love taking a bath for soaking purposes. I love to watch a little T.V. while I'm soaking. There is nothing more relaxing, unless of course your children are banging on the door for you! I always have to jump in the shower after my soak for cleaning purposes.

I'm a bath-a-holic! I am also just a soaker. I can't wash or shave. That's what the shower is for. I love to run a HOT bath and read a book. I can lay in there for over an hour just reading and relaxing. I usually have the fan on so I can't hear anything happening in the rest of the house, a LARGE glass of ice water on the ledge, a pillow behind my bed, and my latest book. I am a night bath person. I have to have my showers in the morning and my baths at night. It's the best way to end a busy day!

i think i am the sis in law that you are referring to. love the tub. it's what got me through my pregnancies. i do have a routine: on days i have to wash my hair, i do that first. then i wash the body, and last but not least, i shave and use the pumice stone on my feet.

right before i get out, and the water is mostly drained, i turn the water back on and rinse off.

there are lots of days i am too lazy to stand. that's just a fact.
