a whole lotta nothin

right now, my son is sitting on the floor, literally at my feet, eating his caramel mini rice cakes, pushing my feet with his. so far we're off to a good start. baby's belly is full (which means he's happy,) mommy got to sleep by 9:30 (9 1/2 hours of sleep!!!) i've got my coffee, it's going to be 78 today, the windows will be open soon as fresh air rushes in, and all in all, i'm feeling good.

i got up this morning thinking, "i'm not gonna do a lot today." monday's actually tend to be that for us. i play many roles during the week (as most of you mommies can relate) and weekends are so full that by the time monday roles around, i like to just stay home. i usually fill it with some much needed cleaning, maybe do some laundry or ironing, let my boy play outside while i catch up on a good magazine, take a bath and watch my show while he's napping, and maybe run an errond to the store for some groceries. the day will end with a good meal (usually bbq) and some fun family time.

truthfully, these tend to be some of my favorite days. as the week progresses it always gets fuller and busier. so by the time monday roles around, i need some down time and don't feel guilty about it one bit. i know most people pick back up on monday, but for this family, it's put back down, lay around, take the day, to relax and play.

and that's how we do things around here. so happy monday to you all and go do something nice for yourself! mommies orders!

I love those types of days! We had one of those yesterday! So nice! And now I'm cooped up in an office all day when its going to be almost 80 degrees outside! No fair!

I like my "down days" too. Mine are on different days each week. Depends on the schedule. Enjoy!

good for you. you have to have days like that. i love mondays too. we have home teams that night and since we started going to it, i've felt like it was an extention of our weekend.

good for you.
