the other day oprah had a movie star on that was encouraging people to feed the world. the idea is when people are fed, they are healthy, which enables them to educate themselves, and the hope is therefore that the world will change as a result. i agree! but then oprah went on to take a quick jab at our "interferance" in iraq...in regards to the amount of money we are spending on the war, eluding to the idea that the same money could go to feed people. SO it's ok to take on the world's hunger problem, but not the worlds terrorism problem. hmmm. that is interesting. so we should but our nose into other countries hunger issues, but not the issues of countries living in oppression and abuse. something doesn't line up to me. how about you???? if we take a stand to help others, then we help others! whether that's through food, medical care, education, or intervention on a tirant leader to free people who deserve the same freedoms we do!
pres. bush did of course get questioned heavily about the economic status. i liked one of his suggestions in regards to the food scarcity fear, he recommends people purchase fruits, veges, and meat from farmers as much as possible.

i like that. i agree with supporting local farmers. so this is maybe the "small" part you can take to help our economy. buy produce from the local farmer's markets around town. you know...the one on the corner with all the great looking stuff? this small step, made by many, can make great change. and if you have the money or maybe you can get a couple people to join up, go buy a cow. you can purchase one for about 800.00. you get organic, healthy, range fed meat that will last you for a year at least AND again, you support our local farmers.
just my thoughts. that's all. but i hope we'll all do what we can. i believe, like my father says, that history will look well upon president bush. i hope so. i think he's done a pretty good job with all the issues he's been dealt. nobody's perfect but i'm glad to know he's consulting the ONE who is.

i need to be more green. i think this year i may start to recycle. i'm a little late to the game, but i know that once i start, i'll be a freak about it.
it IS a little addictive. i won't let one piece of paper goods go in the trash! and i just found out that walmart has a bin to recycle all my plastic bags and the glass recycling place is just down from my house on cole! perfect!
Oh girl, don't even get me started on their twisted thinking!
