is this really happening to me?

to start, just wanted everyone to know my blog is under a bit of construction. i am using our mac and have not quite figured out a few things yet. (also, if anyone is interested, we have a mac that is like new that we do not ever use and would like to sell. it's awesome, but not practical or compatable for rich's business, which is completely unfortunate cause we love this thing. please let me know if you'd like more info and pricing!)
sooooo, here's the thing. there are some days in my life when i believe satan's little helpers have propped themselves up right outside my front door, quietly waiting for me to take one step out and when i do...wham...they've got a day planned for me.
so i'm going to share my unfortunate afternoon yesterday for you entertainment purposes. it really was absolutely ridiculous. BUT hey, if we don't have those days, then what would there be to talk and laugh about with friends?
so the day started a little hectic as it was. we were supposed to be dropping one of our last puppies (eli) off at the airport, EARLY, to be flown to PA to his new fam. i got a call at 6am that they had to cancel him going cause of weather restrictions (too hot in PA. weird huh?) i had prepared his kennel up to united's satisfaction...signs, shredded newspaper inside, food prepared with instructions, etc...)
so i went on with my plans.
at about 1:30pm i got a call from the guy buying the pup saying he can get him on a flight at 5:06pm. he wanted to know if i could have eli to the cargo place by 3:05pm. No problem. of course, ry had just woken up, so i had to get him fed...oh and i was across town at my mom's. so i rush him to get fed, throw him in his car seat and we were off. about 2:10 (almost home), i remember i have to go by the vet's to p/u the pup's health certificate before i can drop the pup. (keep smiling!) so i grab the pup and put him in the kennel! WHAT? it's too small! how can this be? you've GOT to be kidding me. so i make a call to see what EXACTLY the regulations are, but with my better judgement, i knew it would not suffice. the dog couldn't even turn around and barely stand up. poor thing. so as he's litterally howling, squeeling, and yelping the whole trip, i could just here him saying, "find your happy place, find your happy place." so now i'm thinking...holy crud, i have to get a bigger kennel. so after i p/u the health cert (and keep smiling) i call the cargo place. "i am going to have to get a bigger kennel. the one i have is too small. i will be a bit late." No, he says, he needs to be here two hours before the flight. (keep smilin) "that's just not gonna work. you're going to have to extend a little grace. i'm trying the best i can here sir!" so he allowed me the chance to swing by freddy's. i get ry out. we rush in. get the kennel (another 39.00 might i ad). rush out, put ry in the car seat, & we're off. oh wait...smells like the pup pooped! of course he did. (just keep smilin) so i have to stop by the gas station, grab a ton of boise weekly's to shred for the new kennel and get on my way quickly. 3:03pm...i can make it! finally i get there. whew, just made it and only a few minutes late. i look around. are you freakin kidding me? i left the kennel in the shopping cart at fred's! (we keep smiling) So much for getting him on that flight. it officially would not happen now. after all my effort. NO pay off! i call fred's...luckily they have it! i go back, get ry out of the jeep and he's soaked. pee all down his pants...oh yeah, and the poo smell? yeah, it was coming from him. of course, i was completely out of diapers! (now we're really smilin) and you should have seen me! i looked like something the cat had dragged in. i'd not showered or done ANYTHING to myself cause i was cleaning for my mom that morning. (didn't think i'd see anyone :o) so we stand in line to return the kennel (since i didn't want to pay 10.00 more for it than it should be) all while ry is now soaking through my sweatshirt. but we keep smiling. we get our money back and head for home. on the way home, the container of puffs i gave ry to keep him busy...well, he pulled the top off and they went all over him. oh and a rock flew up and hit my windshield, putting a nice chip in it! at least it will match the big crack that goes across the windshield from the OTHER rock that hit it.
by the time we pulled in the driveway, i was just happy we made it home alive. i figured it was imparative for us to get inside and lock the doors. nothing good was happenin for us out there.
but i want to say that my son was an absolute gem! not one peep. the whole two hour trip, with a dirty diaper and everyting. thank you God for such a wonderful child!!!!!!
the whole thing was ridiculous and funny. all i could do was call rich, cry for a moment, and tell him of our misfortunate adventure.
so how do days like that happen?
needless to say, i called eli's new family to explain that he would not be arriving this weekend. he will have to go monday. please pray with me that he can get on a flight that day. his health cert expires wednesday!
hope your friday was a little less chaotic than mine!

Oh Steph! What a horrible day! I'm so sorry! Thank the Lord for a good baby. As for the Mac...is it a laptop? What are you asking for it?

WOW! You get an award for that eventful day. Well, I hope everything will work out for tomorrow and that this next trip will be a little less hectic. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Love you!

I'm so sorry for your bad day! I hate days like that - but they do come. I wish (for you) that you would have gotten a 'pay off' of at least getting the puppy on the plane and on his way. It's extra frustrating when you think you might have to go through something again.
But I do admire your attitude through the whole thing:)....

Thanks for the info. We have a new desktop, so we wouldn't need another one. I would love to get a laptop eventually. That's why I asked. Thanks anyway!!

You poor girl! I just feel tired reading about your adventure. We've had days similar to that. Good for Rykon -- what a sweetheart!

that is crazy and frustrating. i have had days like that where i think, "if people could see me now they'd die laughing!"

you survived to tell about it. certainly made for an entertaining read on you blog. maybe next time you can think... "just wait till i post about this!"

that is hilarious! not then but now. i couldn't belive it when you said you left the kennel at the store. all that work and nothing to show for it. of course. that's just the way it goes sometimes. hope the rest of the wekend was better.
