i know i've shared on this subject previously, but i'll take moment to say again...i love the dove campaign. now i know the principles are not necessarily based on christian ethics, but the whole idea is good and sound and worth supporting. we cannot do enough to protect our little girls and ourselves for that matter.
the new campaign video, "Onslaught," is soooo fabulous. here is the web address: www.campaignforrealbeauty.com
make sure when you watch it you have the sound turned up. let it load till you see an option to "play film" on the left side of the picture of the little red headed girl.
i'll warn you. don't watch it with husbands or boys around. it's for women only. there are lot's of innappropriate images flashing, but you'll see why i want you all to see it. i wouldn't normally ask you to expose yourself to those kinds of things, but i think the message it sends IS strong and powerful. there are also lots of helpful tools and ways to get involved on the site if you're interested.
let me know what your reaction is.

it's about time. a profitable, recognizable, influencial corporation, a strong player in the beauty industry themselves... taking a strong position... i love it. i have known about the dovecampaign for some time now and i have seen the other promotional campaigns they have done regarding body image and age. this one is on point. i take personal stock here because it's not just about me anymore, it's about my baby girl, and i don't want this to be her heritage. we, women, can do better than that. i would love to be a fly on the wall of that marketing team. our part: should you so chose to accept the mission before you... to take back what's yours...your beauty...intact with it's orginal definition.. with fervor.
maybe the beauty industry's day of reckoning is finally here. i'm in if that's the case. i have always believed in the divine difference between beauty and sensuality. they are not the same thing. but we grow up marinating in a culture of sensuality. that's satan's curve ball, and it pisses me off.
i have always loved dove... i grew up with their products... but now, for these reasons, i will buy their products.
thankyou, thankyou, for passing it along.
ditto what beth said. she said what i think with so much more eloquence.
i knew you two gals would be with me. it's heart wrenching to think about what our little ones will face. we CAN do something. that's why i want to get on board with this company. love it.
