girls night out

last night was our second monthly bunko night. it was so much fun. i really enjoy playing. i took a break from it for the last few years, mostly out of over committment. now that i'm not working outside the home as much and as a matter of fact spending most days INSIDE the home, i thought it might be a good time to join back up. of course, these gals are hard core lifers and getting in happend just by the skin of my teeth! it's so worth the little investment....of course that is very true if you go home a winner.
i hosted yesterday and my friend lauren and i put together a comfort food meal no one could resist. taco soup, split pea and ham soup, and gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. mmmmm. yes, they were very tasty. then of course, we feasted on sweets the rest of the night. lauren made popcorn balls. i made white chocolate popcorn, and another bunko gal brought over pumpkin chocolate chip bread. we had a pajama theme given it's so close to haloween. prizes were awarded. and of course my friend skye took the cake. she didn't look like much wearing her big sweatshirt and sweats all night. it wasn't until the end when she dropped it all to reveal quite the nighty. (don't worry...it was all girls!) so, she of course was awarded the sexiest pajamas. way to go skye!
so. if you have the opportunity to join a bunko group. i highly recommend it. you'll have fun. possilbly win some money. eat plenty of good food. & have lots of great conversation with other gals. can't beat it.
