look what's new with us!

that's right folks. one week ago, we went out side to our garage and found that our chocolate lab was giving birth. a couple hours had gone by and we only had four. we thought this was the end of it. so we headed off to bed and the next morning, we found this....

yes....that is 9 puppies you are looking at. we also thought they were all labs...but to our dismay, they turned out to be english pointer/lab mix. they are really cute, but we won't be able to sell them as easily. just an FYI, this was an "unplanned pregnancy" caused by a lack of supervision. so we are now the proud grandparents of 8 (one little one did not make it unfortunately) pups of which 7 are male. yes, what else would it be in this smith family. we only seem to reproduce boys. the one little female is the smallest of the bunch and will most likely be staying in the family. NO not our house. i'm not up for FOUR dogs. she will be making her home at rich's brother's home.
so anyway, if you need a puppy fix, please call, we'd be happy to take care of ya. if you know anyone looking for a dog, they will be very nice looking dogs, with a good possibility of hunting ability. we are asking $30 each to cover food and shots. let me know. here's a few more pics for your enjoyment
