holiday festivities

I love the holidays! Last night Rich and I got all dressed up for our company holiday party. It was heavenly. Thanks to my wondeful friend Skye who came to my house and watched Rykon while I bathed and did my hair, I was able to get dressed like normal person. I was pleased w/how my outfit, hair, & make-up came together... seeing as how I'm still about 10lbs from pre-baby weight. Anyway, our company party is at Spurwing and it's always beautiful and they serve the best food. Especially the jumbo cocktail shrimp. My mom watched Rykon to give us the evening off and we had a great time dining w/a few of our best friends. Usually people stay to dance late into the evening, but baby called and mommy was exhuasted after only a few hours. Rykon did wonderful at Tatti and PaPa's (which was a huge relief) and as a result Rich and I got some much needed time together and w/friends. As we arrived home things looked great as I transfered Rykon into his crib for the evening. But by 12 he was up. No biggie, he ate and went back down. BUT come 4 he was wide a wake and giving me a reason to ask to give him back :o) He stayed up, wanting to nurse...till 5:30! Then, miraculously, he went back down to sleep and is just now waking up (it's 8:30am). So all in all it turned out ok. Of course if you'd asked me that at 5:30 you would have gotten a much different answer. I feel a little more rested, but last nights party and nursing episodes for some reason wore me out so a nap is a for sure today.
