are they going too far? the "church of oprah?" well by def. church means:
a building, esp. for christian public worship. the whole body of Christians. denomination. congregation. public divine worship.
so based on the latter part of the def i guess you could say there might be a "church" so to speak of "oprah." but let's not forget the first part of the def. let's not give that up to anyone who does not profess jesus christ as their lord and savior, that he was, is, and always will be god. that by definition christianity is "the religion derived from Jesus Christ, based on the bible as sacred scripture, and professed by christians." does this really mean anything to us? then we will not forfeit it to anyone. WE are the church. not those who listen to oprah. you know what i love? that the def of a christian and the def of church are only one page away in the dictionary. some of us are worlds away from the other.
i think what makes me sad about this video is that people wouldn't be so easily lead astray if they really new their shepherd. as a wise friend pointed out the other day, sheep KNOW their shepherd's' voice. if two shepherds where to go to the field and the one they don't know called for them, they would not go. they would not respond. they literally only come to the call of their shepherd's voice. SO if we really knew our shepherd's voice, we'd recognize that the callings of all these others were not true. you MUST study the truth so that when counterfeit appears, you'll know immediately.
oprah doesn't get that. she never let the truth of God's word permeate into her soul. she did not take the time to get to know her shepherd. just like so many so called "christians" she played religion. she went to church and relied on someone else to tell her about god. we become perfect prey when this is all we have.
i am pleading with you dear fellow bloggers because my heart is aching. the tears are swelling, because i see the enemy and he's having a feast. you know he desires to kill you right? then take caution. defend your life. know the only One who can defeat the enemy and know him with all your heart. stand with me and take up your sword. god's given us all we need. it just takes a bit of discipline. many of us are great at our routines. our houses are perfect, our children are in order, and our relationship with god is almost non-existent except on sundays, weds, and home team night. what are we doing? don't let this be all you have of him. he's the best priority you'll ever make. talk about a good investment of time.
i hope you're angry when you watch this video. and i hope you choose to do something about it! i know i'm trying to.

that makes me so so sad, and sick. i have heard of her teachings and i honestly thought she was more grounded in her beliefs. i don't watch oprah, but i will pray for her and her millions of fans. she will reap what she sows.
AMEN Sista! I have sent the email I got early this evening to everyone I know. I boycotted Oprah as soon as I heard about this a few weeks ago. SHE OFF MY TIVO SEASON PASS!!!!! I have always questioned her beliefs - she was wishy washy many times when ever God and religion was mentioned o her show. Great post! SPREAD THE WORD EVERYONE!!!
the really scary thing is how many people listen to her and think what she says is truth. mama lisa has it right. she will reap what she sows.
thanks girls. the one comfort we have is our God IS just and he defends our way and whether in this life or after, justice will come. aren't you greatful for the blood that covers every sin? sad thing is she could have the same eternity we do.
