the one in the yellow is my best friend from college, janell. she is currently and most likely permanently stationed in flagstaff,az. if you know janell at all, you know i say that with a bit of a chuckle. she's my "never happy in one place" friend that has spent her life traveling all over the world. over the last 5 years she's been stationed with WYWAM in patea, thailand working with prostitutes, helping them make a way out of their profession, finding freedom in Jesus. she's one of the most amazing women i know. she has the biggest heart for people and she is true to her committment to jesus. part of her travels took her to israel for 6 months where she trained for the mission field. to janell, wherever her feet land her is a mission field. she finally felt God calling her home to flagstaff, az. it's not her original home, but it is where her sending church is. flagstaff found its way into her heart about 5 years ago. God began working on her heart to open a hair salon. she'd toyed with the idea since graduating from LU (with a communications degree :O). she realized half way through college she had a passion for hair and she was dang good at it.
with one miraculous "God" thing after another, she officially opened her new salon. it's an ecclectic mix of styles from nations around the globe that she loves. completely and totally her. if you know ME well, you know we are an odd couple. but we both love the Lord and one another and that is what keeps us tight. even 5 1/2 years out of college. i'm so proud of her and i just wanted to use this blog to praise what she's accomplished.

Wow! She did an amazing job on her salon. Totally her style! That is so exciting! I am so happy for her! And...maybe you'll get to see each other more!!!
