easter celebration

our boy had his first real easter experience this year. last year he was too young to understand. this year, well, still too young to understand, but not too young to understand he wanted those little, round, multi colored things all over the ground packed with sweet yummy goodness. once he figured out there were sweet things inside he was all over them like white on rice! he got to find eggs after church in the park and also at his papa and tatti's later in the afternoon.
it was fun. i look forward to him being able to understand why we REALLY celebrate easter. the eggs and little outfits are fun, but that is not what i want to stick out in his mind. UGH what a challenge we face in this over-celebrated, over capitalized society we live in.
well, i want to say we enjoyed an amazing meal at my parents house with the rest of the family and our dear friends. it was a delicious meal with all kinds of wonderful flavors colliding together in my mouth. my lips are smiling just from the memory of it. the icing on the cake for the day was an amazing service with wonderful music i might add :O) (go praise choir!) the celebration is one of the better i've been to. perfectly fit for a risen king! i hope your day was wonderful too with many great memories and the reminder of our savior's sacrifice!
