can you feel it? i can!

i swear...i can smell the seasons. it's like they get into my bones. i would swear to you i can smell a change in the air. it comes over me like a hot shower. so...about two weeks ago, i could sense fall in the air. it didn't matter that it was 88 degrees. i could just tell it was here. so when the temp dropped to 64 today, i knew it was time...time to break out the decor!!! yipee.
i have to say, aside from the christmas season, this is definately my favorite time of year. so, this is my mantel that i diligently worked on....

and this is the center piece i put together with a 5.50 mum i found at shopko, a wooden bowl i had, and a string of painted wooden fruit. since i had no moula to go buy new decor, i had to work with what i already had. not bad eh? luckily i had bought some half way decent things in the past and thanks to a savvy sis-in-law, i had the perfect candle sticks. oh...and i'm contemplating hanging my orange and purple lights on the patio just to top it off... what do you think? am i going to far with the lights?
i also got an itchin to bake. my in laws brought over some fresh picked peaches and pears from the orchard, so poured a hot cup of coffee and whipped up a delicious peach/pear crisp. as you can tell, it took us all of a 1/2 a day to consume 1/2 of it already. (well, a couple friends did help)
SO i'm happy, because my home has taken on all the aromas and atmosphere i love.

hopefully i've inspired a few of you to get in to the season and get a decoratin. post some pictures if you do!

You've inspired me, Steph. I'll have to dig into my box and see what "little" I have. :)

I bought a new fall center piece-does that count? I also picked up some candy corn and my kids were totally grossed out- i guess that is just more for me to eat! I also changed my wallflowers to the new Irresistable Apple. No baking though!

I am SO ready for Fall! about 3 weeks ago I saw three yellow leaves that had fallen from my maple tree...I thought "YEH! It's coming!" lol I am always ready for all of the season changes...which we really enjoy here, since Oregon has only the...THE DRIZZLE SEASON AND THE RAINY SEASON! :)

the only fall i'll be having any time soon will be the rich colors that i might put around the house when i have a moment. would you consider flying anywhere to decorate? i mean, come on, if you are going to help jen, which we both know she doesn't need help, you could help this sister in law out, right? what if i promised a tan and a free stay? maybe someday i'll be close enough to where you could come over and help an amateur decorator. looks good! Love you.
