so how many of you have had garage sales already this year? seems there are whole lot of them going on around town. well i waited patiently to put my stuff in the annual "lakewood subdivision garage sale" hoping that my patience would pay off $$$$$$! well, no such luck. i think i made like $10. LAME. and i thought i had pretty decent stuff. guess it wasn't quite what the locals were looking for. so dissappointing. is there an art to this thing or what? i didn't make peanuts last year either. i'm about to call it quits. from now on, i'd like to think i might just give it ALL to good will like i normally do...but the challenge, the slight window of opportunity to make a few bucks pulls at me, calling my name as if a slight whisper on the wind! stephanie...stephanie...sell us. we will make you money! "crap," i say! "don't listen. it's non-sense. we've been down this road! use your better judgement and don't listen. it won't pay off for the hours of preparation and sitting it takes!"
i hope i will listen to my conscience, the one that has a little sense, but there's a good chance i may give in once again next year.
i hope that those of you who've dared to put your "junk" out or are making plans to will fair better than i!

I'm sorry you were dissapointed, Stephanie. Eliseo won't let me have a garage sale - he says we don't have enough for a big sale. So we always give our stuff to ARC. But if it were me alone - I'd probably be pulled to try to make a few bucks, also.
Garage Sales are way to much work for the pay off. However, I was able to get rid of a lot of stuff this past weekend at our sub. sale. I will say that a clean garage and closets are worth a lot!Now I just have the next year to fill them back up with junk!
As I was packing and getting ready to move I wondered if I wanted to have a yard sale, but didn't. They are a lot of work, but fun too. I love nothing better than to get up on a Saturday morning and hit some good sales!!! Sorry yours didn't work out so well.
