oh thy threshold

i thought i'd post this picture for a friend of mine who posted recently about her love of old churches and their doors. this is not a church, but i share her appreciation of doors. it's always the first thing i look at when i drive to a home. it's the first impression so i feel it's important to have something beautiful. it's almost like the jewelry to me. the most unique variety of front doors i've seen were over in europe.
of course, to have a nice door you usually have to spend some money. therefore, my home does not have such a door. i'm going to try to improve it's presence this summer by painting it a bright color and adding some elements that are more welcoming around it's frame.
