just a little update for you all on rykon's latest accomplishments, especially those of you who do not live here. you can SEE the changes just by looking at his picture. the first one is of him at about 2 weeks old. the second is at 22 weeks. it's amazing what 5 months can do.
he will be 23 weeks this wednesday. for those of you w/out child and who don't speak mommy language, that's almost 6 months.
so at 20 weeks old he rolled from his tummy to his back. funniest thing ever to watch. he sleeps on his tummy, so i think that's how he figured it out so quickly. he's just about to roll from his back to his tummy. i'm sure it's right around the corner.
at 21 weeks he found his big toe and sucked it like crazy. one day i found him sucking and when it popped out of his mouth he had a ring around it! i'm always amazed at their flexibility. i guess if i didn't have much muscle tone, i'd be that flexible too. he also tried rice cereal by a spoon. this didn't go over too well. he couldn't quite figure out what he was supposed to do with it. we'll be trying it again in a week or so.
and the big news...a week ago...22 weeks old, we found his first tooth cutting through. i new he was a drooler, but it got soooo bad, not to mention fussiness, a lack of interest in nursing, and the onset of a cold. it's popped up a lot in one week. that little booger is sharp!!
lastly, he's growing like crazy. last we checked he was in the 75th percentile in height. he fluctuates between 25-50% for weight. again, for those w/out children, that means that only 25% of babies born when he was are longer than him. same idea with the weight. at this point he's longer and leaner (just like his uncles). he did however put on a lb in two weeks. his appetite has increased a lot in the last few days so i'm sure the weight/height thing will balance out soon.
with all these changes going on, it's so exciting yet i feel a bit sad. he's growing soooo fast. everyone tells you this is how it'll be, but man!!! you all weren't kidding.

Yes, it does go so quickly! Make an intentional effort to enjoy it. I can't believe I have a 4 year old! He was JUST born! :)

oh wow we are missing out on so much. I am also thankful for blogs so I can keep in touch at what is going on in my families life. He's such a cutie!! Make sure to give him kisses for me. Miss you all like crazy!
