life is like a box of chocolates...

...you never know what you're gonna get! well if that isn't pure american wisdom i don't know what is. how true it rings. as i thought about this little saying, i wondered what in my life has been a surprise? i mean, i guess in one way i could say it all has been. but i think that there are certain things that you never expected or could never dream up for yourself. i'd say that most of those moments for myself seem to be a result of God's work in my life. for instance...
going to college at liberty university was one of those "chocolate box moments!" i never in a million years thought i'd end up there seeing as how so many years had passed. i didn't have that in my plans at that point in my life. marrying my husband is another. we were friends for 11 years and even though he always thought we'd end up together :o) i did not have a clue. so when we hooked up in february of 2002, it came as a huge surprise. having my little boy was not something i anticipated, but who he is and how much i love him were two things i coud never have dreamed up for myself in a million years.
so it's your turn. what are your "chocolate box moments?" we all have them and i'd love to hear about them!

NEVER dreamed that I would be living in IDAHO! It’s crazy! But as you said...God has His plans and we believed and still believe, that this was his and his alone. What a blessing it has been to be here the last 4 years. But I have to admit...I too, did not have the LOVE AT FIRST SITE experience with Boise. Even though we KNEW it was God that planted us here. Thankfully, he DID and I just kept relying on the fact that he knows better then we did and now we love it and all the friends that he has brought into or lives.

I have some wonderful friends outside my family but my "Box of Chocolates Moment" is realizing that my husband, children and grandchildren, sister and cousin fulfill every need I have for relationships. I am completely satisfied and happy with my life.

i have those chocolate moments all the time, but mine are more revolved around actual chocolate than the metaphorical chocolate of which you speak.
