jesus loves the little children

i saw a great show on oprah about individuals who gave up climbing the corporate ladder to give back to people in need. one gal came up with an idea that i know most of us probably never thought of. she realized when she started going to shelters to read to little children, that they had no pajamas. she said it broke her heart. as she spoke about these little ones....that some did not even know what pajamas were, it broke my heart too. i thought about my son and how blessed he is to have two parents that love him and nurture him and how i was so blessed to have the same things. yet there are over 800,000 children in shelters with no one to love on them in America alone. this woman had raised over 85,000 pairs by the time she was on the show, but oprah challenged her audience one week before the show to raise as many as they could & they raised 35,000!!! Isn't that awesome? so if this touches your heart, maybe the next time you are out buying something for yourself or your kids, you'll remember these little ones and pick something up for them. there are shelters for battered women and their children and the homeless throughout the valley. you can always take them there and donate them. something to really digest this easter holiday. if Christ did not come to give us life so that in turn we could love others, than it would all be in vain. I hope you'll look for an opportunity to be a blessing to someone this weekend. HAPPY EASTER!
