HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

so what's it all about? i say true romance happens at random times throughout the year. that's how it should be. i tend to like going against the grain on things like this. i hate to conform to the world and since all of our holidays are totally commercialized, i like to think of unique ways to change it up. it's good to remember those you love on this day, but i think the best time to show love is when someone's not expecting it. so guys, don't just go to dinner and get flowers today, but how about on the second day of august, when she least expects it. ladies, don't just buy him a gift today, try sending a little something his way when he least expects it. those things will get us so much further don't you think?

with inspriration from a fellow blogger, i wanted to take the time to say a few words to some very special loves in my life

God: thank you for never leaving me. even when i cannot feel your presence your word assures me you are there and yo loveingly see me through so many things i know that i miss. thank you for the gift of my husband and my son and my family and close friends. it's said that a person with a handful of good friends has more blessing than anything money could buy. i totally agree. thank you for your blessings

Rich: you are my best friend. i think 06 has been our best year yet. we made it throug some hard stuff and i'm sure there are more to come, but we are stronger and more united and i'm greatful for that. i hope you know how much i respect and admire you. you are such a man of God and i'm inspired by your zeal for life and love for those around you. you are the strenght of our new little family. i am thankful that Rykon has you to look up to. he will be a great man because of your influence. not only him, but i am better because of you. THANK YOU. i love you soooo much.

Mom: you are my best friend. no words could express the gratitude i feel for all you do. you give and give and want nothing but our love in return. i admire your strength in all you do and have done in your life. you are leaving a great legacy for me and my children. i cannot wait for my baby to know you so he can see just how amazing you are. thank you for how much you adore and love rykon. i love you

Dad: you are the rock of our family. your committment to God is your legacy. what better thing to give us. but even so you have worked hard to give us a good life. knowing where you've come from, i hope you know that i repect deeply what you have done to raise us in the admonishion of the Lord. it's where i draw my strength to keep going and give my children as much as you've given us. thank you for loving my baby so much. he's going to adore you. i love your passion for missions. it too is your legacy

Jake, Beth, Phil, and Nicole: i love you all with all my heart. you are my best friends. you are who i go to, to draw strength from. you have come through in so many times of need, they are countless. i love your zeal for life and your love for your God & children. I'm so glad i can say that i will be with you all eternally. thank you for being my teachers and my confidons. thank you for loving me through every step of my life, even when those steps led me astray. you make me a better person. i love your babies like they were my own. they will always have me to look to for guidance and i will do everything i can to have a Godly influence on them. i love you all.

Thanks for the reminder Steph. You are absolutely right about not just celebrating the ones we love one day a year, but throughout the year in unexpected ways!
